FTPP spotlight: UAB Distinguished Professor

Dr. Yogesh K. Vohra, FTPP Lead at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and Professor in the Department of Physics, has been named a Distinguished Professor in the College of Arts and Sciences.

Vohra is an internationally recognized physicist and materials scientist whose research focuses on high-pressure physics, synthetic diamond technologies, and biomedical materials. He also serves as Associate Dean for Research and Innovation in the College of Arts and Sciences and is a University Scholar at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

His work has advanced understanding of materials under extreme conditions and contributed to developments in lab-grown diamonds and biomedical applications. He is the founding director of the University of Alabama at Birmingham Center for Nanoscale Materials and Biointegration and leads several federally funded research and training programs.
