IMPORTANT UPDATE
Dear colleagues,
I want to express my thanks to you for your interest in the 2026 FTPP Annual International Al Plasma physics Conference: Connecting Plasma Science and Quantum Science.
While we have received good interest in the meeting (~25 registrants, but only 5 submitted abstracts), we believe that a larger participation is necessary to make an in-person meeting a success.
Therefore, we are making the difficult decision to postpone the in-person meeting and, instead, host a free, 1/2-day virtual meeting in early Spring, 2027 (tentatively, either January 20, 21, or 22, 2027). Of course, we will begin the process of immediately fully reimbursing everyone that has paid a registration fee.
The virtual meeting would be set up in the format of a tutorial where we will have 2 to 4 tutorial style presentations plus another 2 to 4 contributed talks. Everyone that has already submitted an abstract will be given the opportunity to present in the virtual meeting. Furthermore, we would plan to do a much more active engagement with our international colleagues, since travel limitations would no longer be a constraint.
While we regret having to make this decision, we do believe that this is an important scientific topic that represents a new frontier for plasma science research. We hope that you will be able to join us in January, 2027 and we are happy to answer any questions that you may have.
