FTPP attends the North Alabama Worlds of Work (WOW)

FTPP attended the North Alabama Worlds of Work (WOW) event on September 28 and 29, 2022. The event was catered to 8th to 10th-grade students from various schools in 13 different Alabama counties. FTPP organized an interactive booth, presenting an experiment on the reaction of LED light bulbs and plasma wands when brought close to a plasma globe. We also provided FTPP-branded giveaways for the students. In all, we were able to reach over 15,000 students, educators, parents, and community leaders that participated in this event. FTPP provided an informational pamphlet explaining the shown experiment, as well as a plasma-physics career flyer.

Graduate and Ph.D. CSPAR students from the University of Alabama in Huntsville as well as FTPP Outreach Committee members assisted with the preparation and administration of the event. The attendees were able to receive inspirational and personal experiences stories from plasma science experts.
