The NSF EPSCoR FTPP (Future Technologies and enabling Plasma Processes) aims to spread STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) awareness to children and teens in the state of Alabama.
what plasma is?
Plasma is a special kind of matter—just like solids, liquids, and gases, but different! It happens when a gas gets super hot (really, really hot—thousands of degrees!). When this happens, tiny parts of the gas called electrons break away from their atoms, and that creates plasma. You can find plasma in things like lightning, the Sun, and even neon signs!
