Gabe Xu Receives New NSF Award to Advance Cold Plasma Research

FTPP is excited to announce that UAH‘s Dr. Gabe Xu has received a new award from the National Science Foundation (NSF) Technology Translation Partnerships (TTP) program to advance the team’s cold plasma research for agriculture and food applications.

The project, in collaboration with Dr. Amit Morey at Auburn University and Dr. Judith Boateng at Alabama A&M University, will focus on customer discovery through the NSF I-Corps program and explore how cold plasma technology can be optimized for real-world use and return on investment.

The award builds on more than a decade of research and support from the NSF EPSCoR program, providing an exciting opportunity to move this work from the lab toward practical applications in the agriculture and food industries.
